Handcrafted Habitat LLC ~ Shop Policies ~
A. Processing Time. Orders are processed within 1 to 3 business days, beginning the day after Handcrafted Habitat receives payment for the order. Handcrafted Habitat will not begin processing orders until after payment is received. Actual processing times may vary.
B. Domestic Estimated Shipping Time.
I. First-class Mail. Handcrafted Habitat sends orders via United States Postal Service (“USPS”) first-class mail whenever possible. Orders that weigh less than 13 ounces will usually be sent via first-class mail. The estimated shipping time for domestic orders sent via first-class mail is 2 to 4 business days. Actual shipping times may vary.
II. Priority Mail. For orders that cannot be sent via first-class mail, Handcrafted Habitat sends orders via USPS priority mail. Orders that weigh 13 ounces or more will typically be sent via priority mail. The estimated shipping time for domestic orders sent via priority mail is 2 to 4 business days. Actual shipping times may vary.
III. Ground Mail. All orders containing perfumer’s alcohol must be shipped ground. The estimated shipping time for domestic orders sent via ground delivery is 2 to 8 business. Actual shipping times may vary.
C. International Estimated Shipping Time. The estimated shipping time for international orders is 7 to 11 business days. Actual shipping times may vary. International customers are responsible for any applicable customs charges and import taxes. No goods containing perfumer’s alcohol are shipped outside of North America.
D. Business Days. Business days are Mondays through Fridays. Business days do not include Saturdays, Sundays, or any Oregon State or United States holidays.
E. Lost Packages. Customers assume the risk of loss (e.g., loss, damage, etc.) for an order once Handcrafted Habitat delivers the order to the postal carrier or shipping company; however, Handcrafted Habitat will take reasonable steps to rectify issues resulting from lost or damaged packages, which may include filing a claim with the United States Postal Service or other appropriate carrier or shipping company.
F. Correct Mailing Address. Customer is responsible for providing Handcrafted Habitat with customer’s correct mailing address. If Customer provides Handcrafted Habitat with a wrong, incorrect, or undeliverable mailing address, then Handcrafted Habitat shall not be responsible for any damages or delays resulting therefrom. If Customer’s order is returned to Handcrafted Habitat as a result of Customer’s provision of a wrong, incorrect, or undeliverable mailing address, then Customer must pay Handcrafted Habitat for the cost to re-ship the order before Handcrafted Habitat will re-ship the order to Customer.
2. Payment Options. Handcrafted Habitat accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, and PayPal through secure checkout on its website and in person. Venmo payments can be made to @HandcraftedHabitat and cash is also accepted at in-person events.
3. Returns, Exchanges, and Cancellations.
A. Returns and Exchanges.
I. Domestic Customers. Handcrafted Habitat accepts returns and offers either exchanges or store credit of on items that are returned in their original condition and with their original packing material, including all labels, containers, and other packing materials, but not including shipping materials (e.g. polymailers, etc.). Customers who wish to make a return must contact Handcrafted Habitat to arrange the return within 7 calendar days of delivery, beginning the date of delivery. Customers must mail the goods to be returned to Handcrafted Habitat within 14 calendar days of delivery, beginning the date of delivery. Customers are responsible for the cost of return shipping.
Returns and exchanges are not offered on sale-priced goods, custom orders, goods in fragrances that are no longer in season, goods that are intended to come into contact with the skin/body (e.g., perfumes, body sprays, roller balls, slime, etc.), goods that are not returned in their original condition, or goods that have not been delivered because Customer failed to provide Handcrafted Habitat with Customer’s correct mailing address. If the good is not returned in its original condition and in its original packing material, Handcrafted Habitat will not issue a refund or re-send the good to the customer. Handcrafted Habitat retains sole discretion to determine if a product is returned in its original condition.
II. EU Customers. Customers residing within the European Union (“EU”) may contact Handcrafted Habitat within 14 calendar days of receiving their order to arrange a return consistent with EU consumer laws.
If Handcrafted Habitat has not received the returned goods from a buyer, Handcrafted Habitat will withhold reimbursement for those goods. Handcrafted Habitat will provide reimbursement within 14 days of receipt of the returned goods. The buyer is responsible for paying return shipping costs. The estimated return cost is approximately the same amount that the buyer paid for shipping on the order. Withdrawal forms will be provided upon request.
Handcrafted Habitat’s domestic return and exchange policy applies to international customers to the extent that it is consistent with applicable international laws.
B. Cancellations. Customer may cancel an order prior to Handcrafted Habitat emailing Customer their shipping confirmation. Handcrafted Habitat may offer other cancellations within its sole discretion and customers should contact Handcrafted Habitat by email to inquire.
B. Information Handcrafted Habitat Collects. To fulfill your order, you must provide Handcrafted Habitat with certain information such as your name, email address, postal address, payment information, and the details of the product that you’re ordering. You may also choose to provide Handcrafted Habitat with additional personal information (for a custom order, for example), if you contact Handcrafted Habitat directly.
C. Why Handcrafted Habitat Needs Your Information and How It Uses It. Handcrafted Habitat relies on a number of legal bases to collect, use, and share your information, including:
I. As needed to provide my services, such as when Handcrafted Habitat uses your information to fulfill your order, to settle disputes, or to provide customer support;
II. When you have provided your affirmative consent, such as by signing up for Handcrafted Habitat’s mailing list, which you may revoke at any time;
III. If necessary to comply with a legal obligation or court order or in connection with a legal claim, such as retaining information about your purchases if required by tax law; and
IV. As necessary for the purpose of my legitimate interests, if those legitimate interests are not overridden by your rights or interests, such as providing and improving Handcrafted Habitat’s services. Handcrafted Habitat uses your information to provide the services you requested and in Handcrafted Habitat’s legitimate interest to improve its services.
D. Information Sharing And Disclosure.
I. Service Providers. Handcrafted Habitat engages certain trusted third parties to perform functions and provide services to its shop, such as delivery companies. Handcrafted Habitat will share your personal information with these third parties, but only to the extent necessary to perform these services.
II. Business Transfers. If Handcrafted Habitat sells or merges its business, Handcrafted Habitat may disclose your information as part of that transaction, only to the extent permitted by law.
III. Compliance With Laws. Handcrafted Habitat may collect, use, retain, and share your information if Handcrafted Habitat has a good faith belief that it is reasonably necessary to: (a) respond to legal process or to government requests; (b) enforce my agreements, terms and policies; (c) prevent, investigate, and address fraud and other illegal activity, security, or technical issues; or (d) protect the rights, property, and safety of Handcrafted Habitat’s customers, or others.
F. Transfer of Personal Information. Handcrafted Habitat may store and process your information through third-party hosting services in the United States and other jurisdictions. As a result, Handcrafted Habitat may transfer your personal information to a jurisdiction with different data protection and government surveillance laws than your jurisdiction. If you are an EU customer and if Handcrafted Habitat is deemed to transfer information about you outside of the EU, then it relies on contractual necessity as the legal basis for the transfer.
G. Your Rights. If you reside in certain territories, including the EU, you have a number of rights in relation to your personal information. While some of these rights apply generally, certain rights apply only in certain limited cases. These rights are described below:
I. Access. You may have the right to access and receive a copy of the personal information Handcrafted Habitat holds about you by contacting Handcrafted Habitat using the contact information below.
II. Change, restrict, delete. You may also have rights to change, restrict Handcrafted Habitat’s use of, or delete your personal information. Absent exceptional circumstances (e.g. legal requirements, etc.) Handcrafted Habitat will generally delete your personal information upon request.
III. Object. You can object to (i) Handcrafted Habitat’s processing of some of your information based on its legitimate interests and (ii) receiving marketing messages from Handcrafted Habitat after providing your express consent to receive them. In such cases, Handcrafted Habitat will delete your personal information unless it has compelling and legitimate grounds to continue using that information or if it is needed for legal reasons.
IV. Complaints. If you reside in the EU and you wish to raise a concern about Handcrafted Habitat’s use of your information (and without prejudice to any other rights you may have), you have the right to do so with your local data protection authority.

6. Force Majeure. If Handcrafted Habitat’s ability to fulfill a customer’s order is prevented, restricted or interfered with by reason of earthquake, fire, flood or other casualty or due to strikes, riot, storms, explosions, acts of God, war, terrorism, pandemic, or a similar occurrence or condition beyond the reasonable control of Handcrafted Habitat, Handcrafted Habitat shall, upon giving prompt notice to the customer, be excused from fulfilling the order during such prevention, restriction or interference, and Handcrafted Habitat shall not be responsible for any resulting damages or delays.
7. Waiver. If Handcrafted Habitat waives any provision of these Shop Policies, such waiver shall be in writing and such waiver shall not be construed as an ongoing waiver or as a waiver of any other Shop Policy.
8. Applicability.These Shop Policies have been created to apply to all of Handcrafted Habitat’s sales, including sales made through its website and in-person.
